35 Weeks Pregnant

35 Weeks and Counting.....35 Weeks and Counting.....
Img_0682.jpg
We are now in our 35th week of pregnancy. Boy oh boy am I feeling it! I never thought walking around the mall would be a difficult task. I also never knew that someone could go potty so many times in just a couple of hours. The joys of pregnancy. We went to the DOC on Monday (12/27/05) for a regular check up. The baby's heartrate was 135....which is good. He measured my belly and it measured in 1 week ahead of time. To check the baby's size, growth rate, and position, your practitioner will measure your belly on the outside from your pubic bone to the top of the uterus (this distance is called the fundal height). The tape measurement (in centimeters) should equal the number of weeks you're pregnant, within 2 centimeters. So, this week it should of measured 35 centimeters b/c it is my 35th week of pregnancy. I measured 36 centimeters. Maybe we will have the baby a week or so early. We also found out some GREAT news for me. At our last visit the DOC said that we were going to have one big baby (8-10lbs). I was scared to death after he told me that. I kept thinking "there is no way I can push a 10lb baby out!" Well, at this visit he said that the baby had dropped and lodged into position. He said that he does not think we will be having a HUGE baby. He estimates around 7.5 lbs. Hey, I can do that! I don't really think I have a choice in the matter but, 7.5 lbs sure does sound a lot more doable, if you know what I mean! Anyways, everything is looking good as far a baby is concerned. Paul and I are getting very anxious to meet our little princess. Only a couple more weeks. I will post more PREGO pics of me once Paul takes them. I am not into pictures of myself these days. But, I know my out of town relatives want to see them. We will get some more up soon. We are now going to the DOC weekly so, I will post weekly updates until the little one arrives. Take care and HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Jess 34 Weeks and Counting

34 Weeks and Counting.....34 Weeks and Counting.....
34 wks 1.jpg
We snapped some pictures of Jess before heading to her graduation. These pictures are of her at 34 weeks. At our last visit the "Doc" says we are going to have one big baby(8lbs or more). Jess and I think that we will actually have the baby 2 weeks early, not a big baby. She was measuring 35 weeks at our last visit and that was our 33 week visit. So, we think that we will have the baby mid to late Jan. Who knows, everyone else I know this year has had them early. But, our date is next year so it may be different. Anyways, we will keep you posted, we have another Doctor visit next Monday. After Monday's visit we go every week until the little one arrives. Hope you all have a great Christmas. Northcutt Family New Addition

No.. Jess and I have not had our little one yet. We still have a few more weeks. Todd (my brother), Marla (me sister in-law), and Emma (my niece)welcomed the new arrival of their little baby/brother Henry Owen Northcutt yesterday. He weighed in at 5lbs 2oz and 16 1/2". Todd says he was born on Dad's favorite day Dec 21st, which is the shortest day of the year. Dad likes the longer days where he can pack in more work during daylight hours. Henry and Marla are both doing fine. I believe they will make it home tomorrow. Click here to see pics of Henry.

Graduation Day

IMG_0611.JPG

Well Jess finally made it through college. All of the tests, projects, and student treaching finally paid off. She says the tests and projects were the easiest. Student teaching was fun but she was very worn out by the end of the day. I haven't eaten a home cooked meal in over 4 months. But now that she graduated I have gotten my wife back. Home cooked meals, clean house, folded laundry, and 1.5 hours more sleep in the morning are back. Now in another month things may change again but worth every penny. Click on the picture above to see the rest of the graduation pictures. To make a picture larger just click on the picture you want to see. After a while you will all be pros at this. Thanks Todd for helping us out with the albums. Enjoy!

It is a Christmas Tree for heavens sake!

lighted tree.jpg
The Christmas Tree is NOT a holiday bush! There is a spiritual meaning behind the Christmas Tree. The triangular shape of the tree represents the Trinity. The tree points upwards towards God. The signifigance of having an evergreen is that it is forever eternal. Green represents life. The needles on the tree are said to grow upwards like hands praising God. The lights we place on our Christmas Tree symbolize the lights of heaven. And the gifts placed under the tree show charity and love. THAT IS WHAT A CHRISTMAS TREE IS ALL ABOUT!!!!! So, before you go and call a Christmas Tree a holiday bush, you should think about the spiritual meaning you are simply disregarding.

With that said, here are some photos of our Christmas Tree. Jessica got up early (5:30am) the day after Thanksgiving to purchase this beauty (HA)! It was onsale at Target and looked really nice from the add. She waited in line and was able to grab the last one. When we got it home and set it up it looked like an anorexic tree with cancer. It was the slim line version, but nobody told us it would be this skinny. They also failed to mention that it did not have much hair (needles). Jess decided that it would work for this year. She tried her best to make it look decent. Judge for yourself. I also included some shots of our fireplace, Christmas ornaments, and of course our Christmas Card for 2004! We did not get out all of our decorations this year because, as Jess put it, "whatever you get out, you have to put away." So, we decided that we didn't want to put away much this year. Therefor, we did not get out many decorations. ENJOY!

Mrs. Northcutt's First Grade Class

I have completed my semester of student teaching. I loved the children and Rita, the wonderful lady I taught with. Teaching is the best profession! The children love you no matter what. I had a blast but, it is now time for me to prepare for our little girl who will be here in about 7-8 more weeks. YEAH. I did take lots of pics of the classroom and the kids. I am sure you can see why I love teaching so much!!!

Baby Shower- Tennis Team

Jessica's ladies tennis team threw a baby shower on November 21st. The shower was held at our house. Meme (Jessica's mom) suprised us by bringing Jess' old blankie. Jessica carried that thing everywhere she went when she was little. Meme also suprised us by bringing a picture of Jess as a little girl with her blankie. The blanket on the table was Jessica's old one made for her by Mamaw Brown. Hopefully our little girl will like it as much as Jess did. You will also find pictures of our little girls first ever Georgia Cheerleading Outfit from Jessica's sister Brittany who goes to UGA. Gran (Paul's mom) showered us with a new infant carseat and deluxe stoller. A great time was had by all. Enjoy the pics.
