Our Breasts Floweth NONE

IMG_2171.jpg
Well, unlike my sister-in-law Marla, whose breasts floweth over, mine do not flow at all. If you imagine a leaky sink that barely drips, that is what I am like. After pumping for 20 minutes, I end up with eh, maybe 1.25 oz. of milk. So, after a week of that, we gave up. I have no idea whats in these honkin big things, but I do know it's NOT milk. We are gladly onto only formula...Infamil LIPIL with Iron to be exact. Bailey is taking 4.25 oz every 3.5-4 hours. During the night she goes 6 - 6.5 hour stretches.

This week I dropped Bailey off at Daddy's office to hang out while Mommy went to her 6 week check-up. Bailey did great. Everyone gooed and gahed over her. They all commented on how cute her nose is. It was funny when they all asked Paul how well she was sleeping at night. Daddy's response was "I don't have a clue. I sleep in the spare bedroom everynight." They all thought that was strange. Mommy and Daddy think that it is best that he get his sleep so that he can concentrate on his job during the day. It also gives Mommy the ENTIRE king size bed to herself. Lots of room to stretch! After visiting with everyone at Daddy's work, he took her out to lunch. They went to a sandwich shop. He enjoyed his day with his little girl. Mommy picked Bailey up a couple hours later.

Speaking of sleeping....Bailey is sleeping about 6 hours at night. She goes down around 10pm or so and doesn't wake again until 4am. She is also getting on a schedule during the day. She wakes up around 9 am takes a bottle and then goes down for her morning nap around 11am. We wake back up and take another bottle around 2:30pm and then go back down for our 2 hour afternoon nap. Once she wakes up from that nap, she is up until 8 or 9pm.

Bailey has been spending a lot of time on her tummy. We are trying to build up those neck muscles. She was in the middle of lifting her head when I snapped a picture. In the picture her eyes were crossed. Let me asure you that she is not cross-eyed. But, I thought this picture was so funny that I posted it on the web.

I am losing control of my household. What am I talking about you might ask? Well, I have always said that I would never own a dog. We now own a dog. I also said that a dog would NEVER come inside my house. Well, the dog not only came in my house....it drank the water out of the toilet, ate some of my skittles, and even napped on my couch. What is this world coming to????? I can guarantee you one thing. That dog will NEVER EVER EVER NEVER sleep in my bed! You can be sure of that!

Paul finally got his deer mount back that he shot 10/5/04. He took a week off to hunt with his buddy Jeff from Seattle. They hunted every day for a week straight and nothing. Not a thing UNTIL.....a big 8 pointer walked infront of Paul. He shot it from 40 yards.

Enough with the talking...here is what you really want PICTURES. Click here to see all the pics.

Daddy's New Ride

IMG_2076.jpg
A perk of Paul's job is that he gets a company car.....or should I say Mini-van. For the past 2 years Paul's company car was a 2003 Ford Taurus Wagon. We thought that was bad and couldn't get any worse. Paul was thrilled when he found out that they were no longer going to use the station wagon. Thrilled untill.....he found out it was being replaced with a brand new 2005 Dodge Caravan. I laughed and laughed. He truley is turning into quite the family man. He was hoping for a Jeep Grand Cherokee or something along those lines. Not so!!!

Bailey has had a great week. She has really been smiling ALOT! In the morning she wakes up just smiling and even laughing. It is so much fun. I love it when she laughs at my jokes! Bailey also started taking naps in her crib. We are slowly but surely working our way towards putting her in her crib instead of the pack-n-play beside Mommy's bed. So, we decided to start with the afternoon naps. In a couple weeks we will try the crib at night. I am sure Bailey is ready for it....but, is Mommy. No, not yet. Bailey is sleeping about 5 hour stretches at night. One night she slept for 5.5 hours. That was NICE! We had her weighed Monday and she weighs in at 10 lbs. 12 oz. She is now taking 4.25 oz of milk every 3 - 3.5 hours.

Now to the pics. Click here to see all of the pics.

Busy Week

IMG_1813.jpgWe have had a busy week. Daddy had to leave us for the first time ever. He had a national sales meeting in Indiana for 3 days where he recieved 2 awards...Million Dollar Club (growing your business by at least 1 million dollars in 1 year...Paul grew his by 2 million) and the Pace Setter Award (growing your market by 50% or more...Paul grew his by 76%.) Paul ended 2004 with $8.6 million in sales! He blew his projected sales (only 6.6 million) out of the water.....that's our Daddy!!!

Daddy really did not want to go. He had a hard time leaving his 2 girls...especially Bailey. But, he left them in good hands with MeMe. Daddy called and talked to Bailey every night. While MeMe was here Mommy was able to finally clean the house and get organized....you will see one pic where our bed is made for the first time in 5 weeks. MeMe helped us clean too. She is such a help. We also did a lot of shopping while Daddy was gone. It is nice to get out of the house. Bailey is an excellent shopper and loves to eat out like her Mommy.

Bailey's Great Uncle David and 2nd cousin Ian came to visit. They were naturals with our little girl. The DOC said no visitors except family for 8 weeks. The flu is really bad in Georgia this year. Mommy is getting better about visitors. She does however, make everyone wash their hands, sign a legal binding paper saying that they are not sick and have not felt sick in at least 2 weeks, and you must agree to have your temperature taken rectally before you hold the baby. Ok, maybe not rectally but with our forhead scanning thermometer.

Umbilical Cord FINALLY falls off

IMG_1773.jpgAfter 5 long weeks it is finally gone. Horray!!!We have been working very hard at getting Bailey's umbilical cord to fall off. The doctor says that she just has a stubborn one. We put alcohol on it every time we change her diaper but....nothing. We have been going to the doctors office weekly (for the past 3 weeks) to have silver nitrate put on her cord. The silver nitrate is supposed to make it fall of faster. I was beginning to wonder if she would have this little stub on her belly forever. Could you imagine what she would look like in a bikini at age 18 with a brown stub hanging out her belly button. Mommy and Daddy are pleased that she has an innie! We did not want her to have an outie, that is not really that attractive on a baby girl. We took pics of her umbilical cord and her cute belly button. I also posted 5 week pics that I have taken throughout the week. Enjoy. Click here or on the pic above to see all the pics. If you like the pics then PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE post a comment.
