Umbilical Cord FINALLY falls off
After 5 long weeks it is finally gone. Horray!!!We have been working very hard at getting Bailey's umbilical cord to fall off. The doctor says that she just has a stubborn one. We put alcohol on it every time we change her diaper but....nothing. We have been going to the doctors office weekly (for the past 3 weeks) to have silver nitrate put on her cord. The silver nitrate is supposed to make it fall of faster. I was beginning to wonder if she would have this little stub on her belly forever. Could you imagine what she would look like in a bikini at age 18 with a brown stub hanging out her belly button. Mommy and Daddy are pleased that she has an innie! We did not want her to have an outie, that is not really that attractive on a baby girl. We took pics of her umbilical cord and her cute belly button. I also posted 5 week pics that I have taken throughout the week. Enjoy. Click here or on the pic above to see all the pics. If you like the pics then PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE post a comment. We just want to know that someone, anyone, is looking at our site. If you are looking then post a comment. Thanks! Click on "comment" below and post one.

We look at the site every day, even if we don't comment. Don't fret!
The umbilical cord picture was a little over the top... you guys seem to have a knack for that kind of thing. (I do, though, carry around the clip from Emma's cord in my camera bag for some reason. I guess I'm not one to talk.)
Everybody is looking good... though we were worried that the bouncy might fall over on Jessica's head in the bed!

Um...hey paul. DId you notice that in the second row of pictures about the 5th or 6th pic. down (the one where she is holding up her closed fist) Bailey is trying to tell me that she wants to go to protest with me. Thats right, she is more like me than you would care to know.

Nah.. That's a...Give it to 'em Bush! or Tell it like it is DUB ("W") sign. The day I catch her in the garage making protest signs is the day she learns to feed herself. LOL. Hope finals are going well.

My son to had his stump on his belly button along time. The ped. has used silver nitrate 3 times. I have a question. My sons belly button is all black around it from the silver nitrate does that discolor eventually go away. It looks terrible. It is about the size of a 50 cent piece. Could you please send me an email with an answer.

Yes, rub it with alcohol and it will go away. We used a q-tip w/alchol and rubbed away. That takes it off. By the way, how did you find the site.

Please respond to me via e-mail so that if you are the one, I can share news with him of what's happening in your life.
