Bailey: Week 22

Bailey still loves to go to our neighborhood pool. We go pretty much every day. She kicks her feet the whole time. She also loves to move her arms through the water. MeMe and Auntie B love to take her when they visit.
Bailey has had her first taste of a Krisy Kreme doughnut. JUST KIDDING....she only wore the hat while Papa ate his doughnut.
I was sick all last week. We were lucky enough to have Gran come and stay with us and take care of Miss Bailey. Mommy didn't want to get her sick. And, thanks to Gran, Bailey and Paul escaped the awful cold. Since I was feeling sick the camera never made it out to take pics of all the fun Bailey had with Gran. Thanks Gran!!!
Bailey has been falling asleep on her own for 1.5 days now....AND the best part.....there is no crying involved. AMAZING! We read a book, sing Jesus Loves Me to her several times, give her lots of kisses and then put her in the bed awake. She plays for about 5 minutes then passes out.
Today I heard her playing when she woke up from her nap. I let her play for about 5 minutes then went in to check on her. I snuck up and this is what I found!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I know it....I couldn't believe it either. How did she get up to a sitting position all by herself. As you can tell from the picture, she was shocked to see me too. Guess we will be moving the mattress down one level. She amazes me everyday.
On the food front. She now eats her baby food straight up. No rice cereal mixed with it anymore. She eats one jar for lunch everyday. Click here to see the rest of this weeks pics. Enjoy the pics.

Bailey: Week 21
Bailey loves to sit up now. She can balance herself with her hands and sit up on her own for a little bit. But, in the end....when it is all said and done....she eventually falls flat on her face. She is getting better and better.
We have an olympic swimmer in the making. Bailey just loves the water. As you know, I am afraid that she will burn out in the sun. We are so lucky to have a wonderful indoor pool and water park just 2 minutes down the road. Bogan Park Pool is awesome. It has an indoor olympic size lap pool, another olympic size pool with a water park, lazy river, and humongous slide. All of this is indoors where Miss Thing cannot get burnt....PERFECT!
Several weeks ago we started Bailey on soldis. So far we have tried: squash, sweet potaotes, green beans, and bannanas. She likes everything except the bannanas so far. We will try the bannanas again later.

Bailey Week 19-20: Ear Piercing & Swimming

It has been another big week. We decided to get Miss Things ears pierced. It was a bit traumatic for Mommy. I couldn't bear to hold her. She did very well and doesn't even remember it.
Bailey went swimming for the first time today. Her MeMe bought her the cutest Gymboree bikini for the special day. It was quite a treat. Bailey absolutely loves her baths so we thought this would be just like a bath....only cooler, much bigger, and easier to drown. And I was right.....she absolutely, totally, 100% loved it. She was splashing and kicking and trying to drain the pool through her mouth. It was lots of fun. I was very worried about her getting a sun burn. So, I lathered (I mean lathered) her from head to toe in sunscreen. Then I pulled a Michael Jackson and covered her with a life size umbrella. Guaranteed not to burn. It was fun.
Bailey loves to sit on my chest and dive onto my nose and eat it like she has been starving for weeks. She licks, bites, and drools all over my nose. We caught her in action the other day. It is so funny. She laughs and laughs the whole time.
Enough talk....here are the pics.

It is a rare thing these days to meet someone who has been married for 60 years. Paul's Great Great Aunt Ruth and Forrest have beat the odds. They have been happily married for 60 years. We were invited to see them renew thier vows. It was amazing to say the least. After all these years they are in love more than ever. Congratulations Ruth and Forrest. We love you. CONGRATS WAYNE & CATHIE!!!
Congratulations to Wayne and Cathie Heck on the arrival of their new baby girl Gracie McKenna. McKenna weighed in at 8 lbs 3 oz and 20 inches long. According to Paul, Cathie did o'natural. She wanted the epidural but was too late....almost too late to even deliver at the hospital. She is lucky she didn't have it in the car. Maybe next time..... Also a big congratulations to brother Cole and sister Alexis. We can't wait to meet the newest member of the Heck family. Welcome to the world McKenna. Take care.
Love
Jessica Paul and Bailey

Bailey: Week 18.5
Bailey has done a lot of new things in the past 2 days. She has started to show a GREAT intrest in her doggie Hailey. So, yesterday we finally let Bailey go wild and pet the dog. She thought it was so cool. I don't know if Hailey liked the ear pulling though.
Bailey has also found her feet. She loves to grab them and EVEN suck on them. Now she has 10 more built-in pacifiers. I don't know how she gets that big toe in her mouth with those chubby legs. But, she does! When I walk in her room in the morning to get her up, all I see is toes in the air. It is so cute.
Bailey has also started to sit up ON HER OWN! She is determined to do everything way ahead of time. But, it's her world and we just live in it....and love every minute of it. Today during her bath she just wanted to sit up the whole time and splash the water all over. It got in her face and she just laughed and laughed. This is so much fun for both of us. I was laughing so hard too!
And the last new thing....she likes squash. At first she didn't know what to think. "Hmmmm...something other than this nasty glue tasting stuff mommy calls rice cereal. I think I like this." Actually she likes both the rice cereal and the squash.
Now all the pictures. Click here to see them all.

Bailey: Week 18

It has been a big week for Bailey. She had her 4.5 month check-up at the Doctor. She is healthy......weighing in at 15 lbs. 3 oz, 24 inches tall, and her head is 16.5. The Doctor said that we could start her on solids.....and that is what we did last night. First we had to go out and buy a highchair. It is more of a toy than anything. But, it had the best reviews. She had rice for her first meal. She has been having 2.5 tsp of rice in her bottle so this was nothing but a much thicker version. She was very good at it. She really liked it.
We also broke out the Johnny Jumper. She loved loved loved it. She jumped and twisted all around. It was great.
Enjoy the many pictures we took.

Bailey: Week 16 & 17
Hello again! Not much has been going on at the Northcutt house. Bailey has been feeling the effects of teething. She doesn't seem to like it much. With that said, there has been a lot of drooling, bitting, and a little pouting. Nothing that Tylenol can't fix. Hopefully that tooth will break through soon.
Bailey's new best friend is her Daddy. He seems to be the cure all for everything. If she is fussy and I hand her off to Daddy it all ends. So, looks like we will be keeping him around a little longer. Just kidding, we would NEVER get rid of him. He is the best Daddy and husband in the world. Her hair looks red in some pics. Trust me, it isn't that color. It must be the flash or something on the camera. We have been borrowing Grandpaw's camera while ours is getting fixed. Now for the pics. Click here to see more pics.
