Gran Watches Bailey

Paul and I celebrated our 2nd Wedding Anniversary July 19th. To celebrate we decided to go out to eat. Gran (Paul's Mom) came over and watched Bailey. I wasn't quite ready to leave her overnight. I am working my way there. Paul and I left around 3pm and didn't come home until 9pm.
While we were gone Gran got to feed Bailey her dinner (a jar of sweet potatoes) and also gave her a bedtime bottle. And the biggest thing of all......Gran put Bailey to bed. According to Gran, she was a doll. Of course she was. She is our little angel. She was asleep and in her crib by 7pm and didn't wake back up until the next morning at 6:30am. Thanks Gran.
So, Paul and I ate dinner at Stoney River. It was yummy. To start off with, we had the Lobster Bisque. Then, I had shrimp and Paul had the filet and crab cake dinner. We finished off with a 10 lb chocolate cake. We brough 3/4 of it home. It was a great evening.
It was funny what our conversation was about during dinner. We discussed the consistency, color, and smell of Bailey's poo-poo's. I know, don't we have more romantic things to discuss. No!
After dinner we went to Wal-Mart (our favorite store) and then played some video games at the bowling alley.
I have been blessed....the best husband in the world, and the most beautiful and sweet daughter anyone could ask for. Who could want more. Next year we are going to stay the night at Chateau Elan Winery & Resort.
Bailey had another first this week. Her very first Bee Sting. Bailey and I were at the pool and it was time for lunch. So, I broke out the baby food carrots and bottle. Well, the bees liked the milk. So, ouch...both Bailey and I got stung. No more food or milk at the pool. It didn't hurt her bad at all. She cried for like 5 seconds. When the bee stung me I was shocked, it didn't even feel like a bee sting. Guess we were lucky.
On the food front....we have tried more foods. Here is the update. She likes the following: Sweet Potatoes, Green Beans, Squash, Peas, Carrots, "real" bananas, and frozen grapes. She does not like: Babyfood Bananas, Peaches, Applesauce, or Pears.
Now for the pictures. Enjoy.

Bailey: Week 24

Bailey has had yet another fun week. We went out to eat again with the Smith's (our neighbors). Bailey has lots of fun with their 2 girls Megan and Abigail.
Bailey has started to eat baby food twice a day. So far we have tried: Sweet Potatoes, Green Beans, Squash, Bananas, Applesauce, Peas, and Carrots. She likes everything except the Bananas and the Applesauce. However, she does like regular Bananas. I guess the baby food Nannas are too sweet. Bailey also loves to eat frozen grapes in her mesh safe feeder.
We are sitting so well. The other day she sat on the floor and played by herself for 45 minutes without crying, falling, or wanting Mommy. She is very independent and loves her toys more and more each day. You may also notice that she is not laying back in her bouncy seat. She loves to sit straight up. I put her in it while taking a shower and when I got out, I found her sitting up playing with the toys. They grow up quick.
We have also been swimming a lot. Hopefully we will be able to do it some more this week. We are hoping for evening rain showers so not to mess up our swim date.

Photo Shoot

Lots going on this week. We have started to let Bailey play with a sippie cup. She seems to know what to do. Although she also likes to chew on it.
She is sitting better and better. I can put her on the floor and she will sit all by herself for 10-15 minutes just playing with toys.
Miss Bailey has also started to lift her arms when she wants picked up. It is so cute.
We have gone out to eat with friends several times this week. We went out with our neighbors and their girls. Bailey had lots of fun.
Bailey loves to drop her toys just to watch me pick them up. She also loves to play Peek-a-Boo with Daddy. She gets so excited she shakes with joy.
Bailey's new favorite word is BA-BA. She screams it wherever we go. She also likes to say Mama. We have a talker.....go figure.
Bailey loves to type on the keyboard. I guess she takes after her Mommy. We have given her an old keyboard and it is one of her favorite toys.
Ok, now for the pictures. Click here to see them all.

It's a Play Date

My friend Becky, from college, came over today with her little sweetie Sophie. Sophie is just 5 days younger than Bailey. It was great to see Becky and compare "Mommy Stories." And a lot of stories we had.
You will also see a few pics of Bailey's favorite chew toy....Daddy's toes. I wouldn't touch those things with a 10 foot pole but, Bailey seems to love them. Chew-weeeeeeeeeeee!
You may also notice a picture of her sleeping with her thumb in her mouth. She does not suck her fingers nor take a passie. I think her teeth are bothering her so she fell asleep biting her thumb. It was so cute that I had to take a picture.

Bailey Eats Nannas!
We had lunch with Leigh Anne, her baby Erin, Laura and Katie. It was a good-bye lunch for Laura. She is going to grad school in Florida. Good Luck Laura. We will miss ya. But, can't wait to come visit.
Bailey doesn't like baby food bananas. But, she does like REAL bananas. At lunch, Erin had bananas in a Munchkin Fresh Food Feeder. Well, I had been wanting to do this with Bailey and once I saw how much Erin enjoyed it I thought I would give it a try. So, we came home and tried it. Bailey loved it just like Erin. Thanks Leigh Anne and Erin for showing us how to eat Nannas. We also had some green beans with our nannas. YUM!!!

While I had the camera out I took some super-cute pics of Miss Bailey. She is a lot of fun. Paul can't wait to get her out of bed in the morning and play. They are two peas in a pod.

Enjoy the pics. Click here to see ALL the pics.

Bailey: Week 23
Happy 4th of July! Paul and I started dating 7 years ago today. Boy have things changed for us in 7 years. We are married, have a home, a dog, and best of all the most beautiful little girl in the world.
We have had another fabulous week. The big news of the week. Bailey is now fully capable of putting herself to sleep on her own. We have been working towards this for a week or so. I was terrified of the crying that I heard would be involved. But, much to my surprise, there isn't hardly any crying. Sometimes none at all. At the most she yelps (it is not a cry and no tears are involved) for 5 minutes. I read her Guess How Much I Love You, then sing her Jesus Loves Me, kiss her and lay her in the bed. She rolls around for several minutes, yelps, then snoozes away.
Today Daddy was trying to teach Bailey how to say DaDa. After several minutes, all of a sudden she said it. Paul and I were both shocked. She kept repeating Paul everytime he said it. She is growing up so quickly.
She is still working on crawling. I haven't been able to convince her that it works best to get on all 4's. She likes to either be on her hands and drag her feet. Or, up on her feet and push her head across the floor.
Bailey loves to go outside and watch Daddy and Hailey play fetch. But, today Hailey had some human food and this is what happened.
Daddy, Bailey, and Hailey dressed alike for the 4th of July thanks to Old Navy. This is a tradition that Paul and I started when we began dating many moons ago. Every year we buy the 5.00 4th of July shirts. In 20 years we will have so many shirts. Maybe we can make a killing off them on ebay.
